How to track site visitors in SharePoint 2010

How to track site visitors in SharePoint 2010 ?

It's always a good practice to periodically check a SharePoint 2010's site collection usage and compare it against quotas, capacity limits, or SharePoint best practices.

Checking the site usage requires access to Central Administration.
  1. From Central Administration click Application Management.
  2. Click Configure Quotas and Locks.
  3. In the Site Collection drop drown, select Change Site Collection.
  4. Select the Site Collection you want to check site usage for.
  5. View current storage used in the Site Quota Information area.
